Bincy Bouncy is another program I made just to keep up with my programming practice. It's not the most user-friendly application, so I apologize in advance for that.
Basically what the program does is shoot circle or square projectiles around the screen and then they bounce all over the place (I'm sure you can think of a thousand uses for it already ). There are a couple of example settings files in the zip file to briefly show you what you can do with it.
The Control Form allows you to specify all of the launch parameters as well as other properties of the projectiles, like initial position, velocity, angle, and frequency of launches.
If you go into the Obstacle Design form you will be able to add new obstacles to the program for the projectiles to bounce off of. This form takes a little getting used to because of the lack of user-friendliness I was refering to earlier.
Warnings 1. There is a bug where sometimes at the right velocities and angles the projectiles can get through the corners of obstacles. I spent quite a bit of time trying to program around it, but it was just taking way more time than I felt like spending on it. 2. Related to the corner impact issue from above, sometimes the projectiles get stuck on the corners. They will disappear eventually after a long time. 3. I haven't had it crash on any of my computers yet, but it goes really slow on my computer at work. I think that it is because of the graphics card and its processing capabilities (or lack thereof). 4. A friend of mine did have it crash on his Vista machine, and I think it had to do with intense memory usage for processing everything that is going on. I recommend making sure the sound option is off if you experience issues like this.
Recommendations A good graphics processor, CPU and RAM will enhance your bouncing experience.
Other than all of that, I think it's a good way to waste some of that extra time you have... Have fun.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
